Odd Prices Like $17.05: When a Price Is Converted From Euros
Most Digistore24 prices end in 7, 9 or 00. A price like $17.05 or $64.79 stands out, and it usually means the seller set the price in another currency, most often euros.
Why does a price like $17.05 appear?
Because sellers choose round numbers, and conversions do not produce them.
Nobody sets a price of $17.05 on purpose. When our reviews see a figure like that on a US order form, we read it as a sign that the seller set the price in euros and the checkout converted it. We say suggests, because the order form does not state the base currency.
Etsy Profits Playbook at $17.05 and Ultimate Dog Sitting Handbook at $7.96 are typical. AI Aesthetic Masterpieces at $9.31 is another; our review puts it plainly: sellers do not choose $9.31, converters do.
1. Who sells at converted prices?
In our catalogue, mostly small merchant accounts with no address and no sales page.
Nine of the odd-priced guides we reviewed come from one account, moneywithangie, which sells short guides on Etsy, Amazon, TikTok and print on demand with no postal address or phone number. Print to Profit at $64.79 is by far the most expensive title in that range, while most cost under $35.
Two of the same seller's titles, Mastering TikTok Shop Affiliate and the Amazon FBA guide, both cost exactly $19.32, which fits the idea of one base price converted the same way. None of this makes the guides bad; it tells you the seller works from a non-dollar setup and publishes little about itself.
2. Can the price move between visits?
A converted price can shift with the exchange rate. A real dollar price stays put.
Our Ancient 12-Second Magnetic Heart Ritual review tested this directly: the order form was reloaded with a United States, a United Kingdom and a German billing address, and the $23.58 total did not move. That makes it a real dollar price, odd as it looks, not a conversion that drifts.
For any odd figure, the safe habit is the same as for every purchase: read the total on the order form on the day you pay, not the number you remember from last week.
3. Does a European seller always mean odd prices?
No. Many European sellers price in round dollars, and often publish more about themselves.
Heiko Boos, who gives a full postal address in Bornheim, Germany, sells guides such as ChatGPT Expertise PLR at $17 and Email Marketing Fundamentals PLR at $47. Round numbers, a named person and an address: the opposite of the anonymous odd-priced accounts.
Sometimes the European base shows up elsewhere. Photomizer 3 offers a posted backup DVD whose stated delivery time applies within Germany only. Save Money: The Top 100 Tips has general tips, some of which will not apply outside Germany, especially on insurance and contracts.
4. How do VAT and sales tax change the figure?
The total also depends on where you are buying from.
MyKidpreneur charged $25.00 from a US address with no sales tax added, while a German address was charged 23.44 euros including 7% VAT. Same product, two different totals, each shaped by the buyer's country.

Do odd prices affect our scores?
