What the checker reads

It opens the same Digistore24 order form the buy button leads to and reports what it will actually charge. These are the things that most often differ from the sales page in the 775 offers we have reviewed:

• Recurring billing: instalments or a subscription, the amount, the interval and the total you agree to
• Trials that turn into a regular charge, and $0 today with a payment scheduled later
• Pre-ticked extras: items already placed in the cart and what they add to the total
• Vouchers: whether the code the sales page gave you really takes anything off
• Shipping and tax added on top of the advertised price
• The refund window the order form states, if any

What it cannot see

• The sales page. Compare the result with the price and terms the page advertises; a mismatch is the finding.
• Upsells shown after payment. Digistore24 can offer further products once the first order goes through.
• Prices outside the United States. Tax, currency and sometimes the price itself change by country.
• Whether the product is any good. The checker reads the offer, not the product.

Manual checklist

Some vendors use an older order form layout, or send the buy button somewhere else. If the checker cannot read an offer, open the order form and look for these five things before you pay:

1. The amount next to the total. Is it the price the sales page advertised?
2. Any words like "monthly", "every", "instalment", "trial" or "then". Those mean more than one charge.
3. Ticked boxes in the cart. Untick anything you did not choose.
4. A struck-through price. If the form never charges it, it was never a discount.
5. The refund period under the buy button, and whether the page promised a longer one.
