Why Was My Card Declined on a Digistore24 Checkout?

A declined card on Digistore24 can come from Digistore24's own checks, your bank or a foreign-currency charge. Here is what each cause looks like and how to fix it.

Why Was My Card Declined on a Digistore24 Checkout?

Why was my card declined on a Digistore24 checkout?

Usually for one of three reasons: Digistore24's own pre-payment checks, a decision by your card issuer, or a currency or payment-method mismatch. The message alone does not say which.

Digistore24 is the reseller on the order form, so the payment runs through its checkout and the payment providers behind it. Its help center lists the payment methods it uses as Klarna, PayPal, credit card, advance payment or bank transfer and SEPA direct debit.

We audit offers, not payments, and we never bought any product, so we cannot see why a particular card failed. What we can do is report what Digistore24 says in its help center and what our review data shows about the order forms. Our guide to paying by card on Digistore24 covers the safety side.

What does Digistore24 say causes a payment declined message?

Two things: the buyer is on its internal blacklist, or the buyer fails a credit check that runs before the debit. Digistore24 says the check is done by an independent third-party provider.

This comes from a customer-care FAQ written for vendors, where Digistore24 explains the error message 'payment declined'. It says the check runs before the debit to protect against fraud and chargebacks, and that it looks at serious payment problems in the past, such as frequent chargebacks. Digistore24 states it only receives a yes or no from the provider and has no direct access to the provider's database.

That has a practical meaning. If the message appears on the Digistore24 order form before any bank step, support staff may not be able to tell you the exact reason either. Digistore24's recommended steps are to try again later and, if it still fails, to use another payment method.

Digistore24's two named causes, as of October 2026

  • The buyer is on Digistore24's internal blacklist and cannot buy
  • The buyer fails the credit check made before the debit by a third-party provider

Could it be my bank instead?

Yes. Your card issuer makes its own decision, and only the issuer can tell you the reason. Digistore24's help center does not explain card-issuer rules.

We found no Digistore24 help article that explains 3-D Secure or why a card issuer declines a given charge, so we will not guess at those rules. What we can say is that Digistore24 describes its own check as separate from the recipient bank.

A call to the number on the back of your card is the direct way to learn whether the bank blocked the charge. Ask about the exact amount, currency and date, because the bank sees the charge in the currency the order form used, which is the next point.

Does a euro or pound price change anything?

It can. 71 of the 1,189 Digistore24 offers we reviewed bill in euros or pounds even for a US address, so your bank converts the amount and may treat it as a foreign charge.

Offers mentioned in this section
ProductCategoryOffer scorePriceBillingVerdict
FitStart Formula: Beginner Body Blueprint Health & Fitness 6.4/10 EUR 27.00 One-time payment Worth a look
24 Menus from Madeira: A Culinary Journey with 72 Recipes Cooking 8.3/10 EUR 19.80 One-time payment Worth it
Dynvera Diaries eDiary Bundle (6 PDF Diaries) Self-Help 7.5/10 EUR 18.90 One-time payment Worth it

As of October 2026, 66 of our Digistore24 offers charge in euros and 5 in pounds, which is 6.0% of the total. For FitStart Formula, our review notes that the order form charged euro 27.00 in euros even from a US address, so your card is billed in euros and your bank's exchange rate applies. 24 Menus from Madeira and Dynvera Diaries eDiary Bundle bill in euros in the same way.

A foreign-currency charge does not cause a decline by itself, and we cannot say that any bank blocks it. It is a reason to check the amount with your bank if the payment fails, and to compare the euro total with the dollar price on the sales page. Our guide on prices converted from euro explains odd figures like $9.12.

Should I try a different payment method?

Yes, if the form offers one. Digistore24's own advice is to try another payment method when a payment still fails, and the methods shown can differ between order forms.

Three order forms we recorded list Apple Pay or Google Pay, credit card and PayPal: The Trained Eye Program, The Lotto Master Key and 10K Leo Tokens. Digistore24's security page names Klarna, PayPal, credit card, advance payment or bank transfer and SEPA direct debit as its methods, so which ones you see depends on the product and your country.

If you already have an order and need to switch, the customer portal has a Change your payment method option, and the order confirmation page has a Change payment method button. The portal needs no password: you sign in with your email address and a one-time code that is valid for 15 minutes.

What if a renewal payment fails later?

Digistore24 retries up to three times within three days, then emails a payment link. If you do not pay, the subscription is terminated and access can be blocked.

Digistore24's page on payment interruptions says a debit is processed on the due date, and if it fails there are up to three further attempts within three days. The customer receives an email about two to three days after the last failed attempt, with a link to pay. If the payment is not made, the subscription ends automatically.

Recurring billing is rare among our Digistore24 offers: 25 of 1,189 (2.1%). Paid Online Jobs Writing shows $1 now and then $47 every month, Tradbook Pro Multi-Profile shows $26 now and $26 every month, and Perpetual Income Launchpad shows $9 and then $47 monthly. A declined renewal is a good moment to decide whether you want the subscription at all; see how to cancel a Digistore24 subscription.

What should I do right now?

Check you were not charged, then wait and retry, then switch payment method, then ask your bank, then contact Digistore24 support with your details.

A safe order of steps

  1. Search your inbox for the order confirmation before you pay again.
  2. Read the order form total and currency on the failed screen.
  3. Try again later, as Digistore24 advises.
  4. Switch to another payment method if the form offers one.
  5. Call your card issuer and ask about the exact amount and currency.
  6. Contact Digistore24 support with the order details if all of this fails.

Before retrying, look in your inbox and spam folder for the email titled Digistore24 - Order successful / access, which Digistore24 says is the order confirmation. If it exists, you have an order and need no second payment. Our guide on who to contact for support explains where to turn next, and the method page explains how we read an order form.
