Scavenger Hunt Bremen: Angel of Death Review: Worth It?

How we assessed this

This is an offer review, not a hands-on test. On 14 October 2026 we read the vendor's sales page and opened the Digistore24 order form for product 747634, and recorded the price, the billing model, the delivery method and the refund terms exactly as shown. We have not purchased or used this product, and we say so rather than inventing an experience. The score rates the offer on seven things we can verify: offer clarity, value for money, pricing honesty, delivery and access, refund terms, vendor transparency and claim discipline. Two of them act as floors as well as scores: if a seller will not say what the product is, or who is behind it, the review cannot come out green no matter how clean the checkout is.

Scavenger Hunt Bremen: Angel of Death (A Bremen Tragedy) at a glance

This is a digital access to a city game, not a physical product. The seller, Hint-Caching, says you play a pair of city officials in Bremen in 1828 who investigate a wheelwright who found white grains in his ham and feels ill. You open a web-app style game on your own phone at the start point by the Pig monument, move through the old town between the Wilhelm Wagenfeld House, St. Martin's Church and the old weighing house, and solve puzzles at sights and information boards. The seller lists 18 puzzle stations, three graded hints per puzzle, a built-in stopwatch and an end point near the cathedral. The game is in English (a German version exists), needs no app download, and access is valid for one year from purchase. The order form is on Digistore24.

Format: Self-guided smartphone web-app game, no app download
Location: Bremen old town, start at the Pig monument
Story: Poisoning case in Bremen, 1828 (per the seller)
Group size: 2 to 6 players per access
Duration: About 2 to 3 hours, pausable
Puzzle stations: 18, with three hints each (seller's figures)
Price: EUR 49.00 on the order form; 29 euros with a discount code on the page
Validity: One year from purchase

What the seller says you get

You receive login details for interactive web pages that run in a phone browser. The seller says the route is walkable, with puzzles at buildings and sights rather than at arbitrary GPS points, and a short note about each sight at every station.

At the start you also get a link and QR code for a city map that marks the stations, so a second device can handle navigation. A flashlight is suggested for evening play. The language is English; a German edition is sold separately.

Price and what the discount means

The Digistore24 form shows EUR 49.00 for one access, with a quantity selector up to 10 and above. The seller's page shows a 'discount promotion' of 29 euros per group of 2 to 6 players and a script that fills in a month-end deadline and a discount code. We read this as a regular price of 49 with a standing promotion, but we could not confirm how the code applies at checkout.

The form carries the notice that this version is not public yet, so the final screen may differ.

Comparisons with other providers

The page includes a table claiming other providers use AI and GPS points while this game is hand-made, researched on site and has more stations. We cannot verify any of it. Testimonials are short first-name quotes with no links or dates.

Refund and terms

The seller's terms describe a 14-day withdrawal right and a flat 5 euro fee if you cancel a wrong booking. Note that a game access is a digital service, so check what happens to the withdrawal right once you have started playing before you rely on a refund. The operators are named with an address and a VAT ID in the imprint.
