182 offers are labeled VAT included, 6 say plus sales tax, and many say nothing. Real examples of prices that grow at checkout, and how to compare totals.

Which Offers Show VAT or Sales Tax in the Price and Which Add It Later?

Which offers show VAT or sales tax in the price, and which add it later?

As of October 2026, 182 of our 1920 offers carry a VAT included label and 6 say plus sales tax; most others print a price and add any tax on the order form.

We audit the offer: the sales page and the order form, not the product itself. We never bought any of these. For each offer we record the billing string and a price note that says what the form showed from a US address and, often, from a German one.

Here is what a script over our catalog found. 182 offers use the billing label One-time payment, VAT included. Six use a label with plus sales tax. The rest use a plain label such as One-time payment, and tax shows up, or does not, only when you reach the order form. Our guide to sales tax and shipping at checkout explains the mechanics.

What does a VAT included label look like in our data?

It is a billing label on 182 offers, with a median price of $37, and every one of them is a one-time payment.

Offers mentioned in this section
ProductCategoryOffer scorePriceBillingVerdict
Risk Management Course Software & Tech 7.8/10 $27 One-time payment, VAT included Worth it
Career Compass for Scrum Software & Tech 7.6/10 $27 One-time payment, VAT included Worth it
Youth Swimmer Nutrition Guide Sports & Outdoors 7.9/10 $19.90 One-time payment, VAT included Worth it
btcBeep Trading 7.7/10 $69 One-time payment, VAT included Worth it
Mallorca Bucket List Sports & Outdoors 7.1/10 $15.96 One-time payment, VAT included Worth a look

Examples are Risk Management Course at $27.00 total, Career Compass for Scrum at $27.00, Youth Swimmer Nutrition Guide at $19.90 and btcBeep at $69. In each case the Digistore24 checkout showed the same number as the label.

The label is common in health and fitness (41 of the 182) and make-money-online (40). Of the 182, 6 are Worth it, 155 are Worth a look and 21 are Pass. The average score of the group is 6.2, against 5.9 for the whole catalog.

The label has a limit. For 8 of the 182, the price note also says that sales tax is added by state, for example Mallorca Bucket List at $15.96. VAT included describes the price the form showed us, not a promise about every buyer's address.

Which offers add sales tax at the order form?

Our price notes explicitly record a US sales tax added for 69 offers, and the 6 plus sales tax listings state it in the billing label itself.

Plant Technician Field Kit is the clearest case. The sales page says USD $49.99. For our US address the order form added an 8.25% sales tax line, $4.12, for a total of $54.11. German buyers saw $49.99 with no tax. Its billing label just says One-time payment.

The Forbidden Keto Code is $9 plus 8.25% US sales tax, $9.74 in total. Small on a small price, but the gap grows with the price.

Where the tax rides on a subscription it repeats. TubeMagic is $47 per month before tax, and our US-address form added $3.88, so $50.88 a month. Ultimate Viddeos A.I. System is $897 per year before tax, and the form added $74 for $971. Fast Screen Recorder for PC is $19.90 per year, $21.54 with tax. Our notes say your state rate may differ.

When did the order form add no tax at all?

Our price notes explicitly record no sales tax added from a US address for 238 offers, so the same price can be the whole price.

Self-Esteem Elevation for Children is $47.00 once for a US address with $0.00 tax. The ClickBank form agreed with the page. For other offers the Digistore24 form from a US address also showed no tax added.

So a missing tax line is not a warning sign in itself. It depends on the seller's setup, the product type and your address. What matters is that you read the total at the bottom of the form, because the label and the sales page cannot tell you.

Does the address you enter change the price?

Yes. In our notes the US and German order forms often show different totals for the same offer.

What's He Really Thinking charges $47.00 once for a US address and EUR 49.09 including VAT for a German address. Plant Technician Field Kit goes the other way: tax is added for the US address and not for the German one.

Shipping can differ too. Man Greens shows US shipping at $0 while the German form adds EUR 48.04. Use the numbers in our reviews as a guide to the pattern, not as your exact bill. If you buy for a company, our guide to the Digistore24 VAT invoice for business buyers covers the paperwork.

How should you read the billing label?

Treat it as a hint. The only number you can trust is the total on the order form, entered with your own address.

A label that says VAT included is mildly reassuring for a one-time price. A label that says plus sales tax is honest about the extra, and in our data 3 of those 6 are subscriptions, so the cost repeats. A plain label tells you nothing about tax.

Of the 6 plus sales tax listings, 5 are Worth a look and 1 is a Pass. That is a tiny group, so do not read it as a rule. Our guide on how to read a Digistore24 order form shows where each figure sits, and the methodology page shows how pricing honesty enters the score.

Billing labels as of October 2026

  • One-time payment, VAT included: 182 offers, all one-time, median price $37
  • Plus sales tax in the label: 6 offers, 3 subscriptions and 3 one-time payments
  • Plain One-time payment: tax appears, or not, only on the form

What should you check before you pay?

Enter your real address first, read the final total, and compare offers on that total rather than on the headline price.

Checkout checklist

  1. Enter your country and state before looking at the price.
  2. Read the Total at the bottom of the form, not the page price.
  3. Check whether the amount repeats, and decline anything you did not choose.
  4. Compare offers on total including tax and shipping.
  5. Save the order page and note the refund window.

This takes a minute and is the cheapest protection you have.

Frequently asked questions

What does VAT included mean on a Digistore24 offer?

In our data it is a billing label on 182 offers, all one-time payments, meaning the price we saw at checkout was the total. For 8 of them the note also says sales tax is added by state.

Does Digistore24 add sales tax in the US?

In our checks the order form added US sales tax for some offers and none for others. Our notes record tax added on 69 offers, for example 8.25% on Plant Technician Field Kit.

Why is the checkout total higher than the sales page price?

Tax or shipping is added on the order form. Plant Technician Field Kit goes from $49.99 on the page to $54.11, and The Forbidden Keto Code from $9 to $9.74.

Is the price different if I enter a German address?

Often yes. What's He Really Thinking is $47.00 for a US address and EUR 49.09 including VAT for a German one, while Plant Technician Field Kit shows no tax for Germany.

Is a plus sales tax label a bad sign?

Not by itself. It is clearer than a silent label. But 3 of the 6 listings with it are subscriptions, so the tax repeats with every payment.
