Mostly side-income methods built around AI tools, social media, dropshipping, email and freelancing, delivered as a PDF rather than video lessons. A few teach a concrete skill with a stated lesson count.

Is a course under $50 a video course or a PDF?

Usually a PDF. Of the 325 offers, 249 list an ebook, PDF or EPUB as the format, and only 19 mention video, lectures, lessons, webinars or audio.

The word course on a sales page often means a document. Compare two offers. Masterclass Mastery costs $47 and the listing names 50 lessons, 8.5 hours of video and a Thinkific-hosted course. AI Business Operator 60-Day System costs $67 and is a 116-page PDF. The price tells you little about the format.

Price does not buy a better rating either. The 52 make-money offers at $50 or more have a median score of 5.9, lower than the 6.3 under $50, with 7 Worth it and 13 Pass.

Which business topics do the cheap courses cover?

AI side hustles lead by far: 113 of 325 offers mention AI, ChatGPT or prompts. Social media, ecommerce, email, affiliate and freelancing follow, and 114 fit none of those.

We sorted each offer by the first topic keyword found in its name or short description, in this order. It is a keyword count, not a judgment of the content, and an offer can belong to more than one topic.

AI is the biggest group. Why do so many cost exactly $37?

193 of the 325 offers (59%) are priced at exactly $37. We cannot say why, but 96 of the 113 AI offers sit at that same price.

The $37 group is rated Worth a look for 146, Pass for 46 and Worth it for 1, with a median score of 6.3. The other 132 offers split 19 Worth it, 67 Worth a look and 46 Pass. In other words, a $37 price tag by itself is not a signal of quality or of a problem.

Where the same price covers dozens of titles, read the individual listing. Dropshipping Domination From Scratch is a $37 PDF from a publisher that, per our review, sells 30 titles at the same price. The one Worth it at $37 is the WoodProfits Guide, a woodworking business ebook with an MP3 audio.

Do under-$50 offers add upsells or subscriptions?

Rarely on the form we audit: 8 of 325 bill on a recurring basis and 8 price notes describe an optional add-on. The headline price can still mislead on the recurring ones.

Paid Online Jobs Writing is advertised at $1. The order form then charges $47 every month three days later, which is $565 in the first year, and the form does not describe the product. Add-ons exist too: Million Dollar Replicator lists an optional $9.97 add-on that is not pre-ticked, and the page uses a pen-name spokesperson and a countdown timer. We audit the sales page and the order form, so anything shown only after payment is outside our data. Refunds are mostly clear: of 295 offers with a refund window on record, 289 start with 60 days.

What do the Worth it offers have in common?

The ones we cite state checkable details: lesson counts, hours, page counts, a named seller or company. Listings that name none of these give you less to verify.

Of the 325, 20 are Worth it. Plan Your First 3-Day Challenge Course is a $25 online video course on Thinkific. Instant AI Agency is a $14.40 ebook of 167 pages from a UK-registered company. AI Marketers Club is a $27 membership from a named marketer. Whatever the topic, results depend on you, and we do not promise any.

At the other end, The Money Wave Accelerator is a $39 audio track on an unfinished template page, and Sales Page and Promotion is a $13 checklist bundle with no sales page in it. Both are Pass.

How do you judge a cheap business course before buying?

Check the format, the stated contents, the seller and the billing line, in that order. A low price makes a refund easy to win, but it does not make a vague product good.

Five checks

1. Format: PDF, video, membership or software? Does the page say?
2. Contents: lesson count, hours or page count, not only a promise.
3. Seller: a named person or company with an address.
4. Billing: a $1 or $3 trial that turns into a monthly charge.
5. Income claims: screenshots and numbers are marketing, not proof.
