Craft Patterns, Design Assets and Hobby Courses: What to Check
Hobby downloads range from a woodworker selling his own patterns to bundles claiming 300,000 files with no index. Three checks separate them.
1. Does it say how many files, and can you see a sample?
A number you can check, plus a sample, is the minimum for a download bundle.

300,000 Laser Cut Files claims 300,000 SVG and DXF files for $249.99 with no file index, no sample pack and no licence statement. Nobody can check a claim of that size.
2. May you sell what you make?
Selling products made with someone else's designs needs a commercial licence.
T-Shirt Typography Printing Designs offers 250 editable designs for $4.99, and Graphics Design Assets a large library for $7.99. If you plan to sell shirts or prints, find the licence text before buying. AI Aesthetic Masterpieces states no file count, resolution, format or licence at all.
3. Will it open in your software?
Presets, templates and cutting files depend on a specific program or machine.
Lightroom Presets are tied to Lightroom, so check your version. Laser and scroll saw files need a format your machine accepts.
4. For courses: who teaches, and for what level?
A craft course should name the teacher, the tool and the skill level.

6. Is the quality stated?
Resolution, file format and editability matter more than the number of files.
A design bundle that states EPS or editable files, like the T-shirt typography pack, tells you how usable it is. An image pack with no resolution or format, like AI Aesthetic Masterpieces, may be unusable for print.
7. Is it a physical gift item?
Gift products need shipping details and a clear description of what arrives.
1 Golden Rose sells a single preserved rose for $199. For physical gifts, check the delivery time, the shipping country and what the item looks like in real photos.
Where is the refund window?
On the order form, in the line that states how many days you have. That number beats any badge on the sales page.
Sales pages often show guarantee badges that differ from the order form. The order form is the contract. Note the number of days and the date you paid, because the window counts from the first payment.
If a product is physical, support may ask you to contact the vendor about sending it back, and shipping costs can apply. Digital products are refunded without a return.
5. For children's printables: age and page count
Good children's packs state the age range and the number of pages.
