Survival & Self-Sufficiency review
Ape Survival (online store) review
A US online shop for backpacks, camping gear, fishing tackle, knives, self-defence items and e-books, with free shipping over USD 50 and a 100-day return promise.
Worth a look
A conventional online shop with a clear returns banner. The main points to weigh are the heavy sale-price discounts, which look like reference prices, the unverified claim that all gear is tested, and the sale of knives and self-defence items, which are regulated differently in different places. Check item reviews, shipping costs and local laws before you order. It is a store, not a single product, so judge individual items.

What the page says you get
A broad catalogue of outdoor gear and some digital books. The most popular items listed include tools, a solar charger, a duffel bag and knives, with 1 to 4 reviews each.
Claims to weigh
The page calls the brand 'America's leading survival and outdoors brand' and says the gear has been vigorously tested. Those are marketing statements that we could not verify, and the review counts shown are very low.
Many items show a crossed-out higher price with a sale price, so judge value by comparing similar items elsewhere.
Prices and returns
Prices vary item by item. The banner promises free shipping over USD 50 and 100-day free returns; read the Refund Policy page for exact conditions, as we did not review it in full.
Pros and cons
What works
- Clear free-shipping threshold
- 100-day return banner
- Wide range of low-priced items
- Prices shown upfront
What does not
- Big 'was' and 'sale' discounts
- Very few reviews per item
- 'Vigorously tested' claim unverified
- Knives and self-defence items need local legal checks
