The Last Bottle tells of a bear struggling with alcohol who is guided toward recovery by a white tiger and a clever monkey. It is a fable about addiction and second chances, valuable for the right reader and worth a parent's look before bedtime.

Story-based learning works when the story is actually included.
The Mystery of Nils teaches beginner Norwegian through a 26-chapter story with audio and vocabulary, and it is rated Worth it. Using Comics, Novels, and News for Language Learning recommends reading for pleasure but names no titles in any language.
